For the second consecutive year, the Berkshire Disability Pride Day committee hosted a legislative breakfast. Empowerment and Advocacy for People with Disabilities at the ITAM Lodge on Friday, March 15, 2002. The event gave county representatives to state government a chance to explain their policies and positions on issues pertinent to people with disabilities. People in atten

dance had a chance to see and hear their representatives face to face. This recognition, along with knowing each representative's position, makes advocating for the disabled through direct contact much more effective. To prepare the audience for the legislators' remarks, trainers at each table demonstrated to participants how to become more effective advocates for themselves.
