     In the current atmosphere of fiscal austerity, advocating

for one's rights is more important than ever. Your senators and representatives are elected by you, and  they will listen to your concerns. When you know your legislators are voting for bills and laws that you support, please call them and tell them your personal story. Make sure you let them know what their support means to you.

     Besides celebrating five years of diversity and progress for the disabled in the Berkshire community, this year's event coincided with the twelfth anniversary of the passage of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act.
     People attending the cele

bration were treated to a joyous day filled with dancing and music.  A  kid's station kept young attendees busy and content. With more than 40 vendors attending the event, people were able to learn about equipment for the deaf, agency support services, adaptive technology, programs for children with disabilities and transportation services
