Individuals Express their Creative Side

Several months ago, Ann Romaniak, a community advocate, put a small ad in the VISIONS  Newsletter asking anyone with a special skill, hobby, or talent to share that talent with individuals at BCARC. Julie Morgan responded saying that she would like to offer an art class. What a success it was!!
The eight-week program held every Tuesday at the Social Development Center attracted nineteen  people from various BCARC homes as well as community members. Everyone had an opportunity to make beautiful and creative projects such as decorated glass plates and checker boards.
During the final class, the individuals were treated with a surprise pizza party along with a graduation ceremony that included diplomas to proudly proclaim everyone's successful completion of the class

Many thanks to the volunteers and staff who were there every week both to offer assistance and to help with the crafts and clean up afterwards.
The success of Julie's class should be encouraging to anyone else who may have an idea for an activity to offer. Anybody who has a special talent or hobby he/she  would like to share with other people, please contact
Ann Romaniak at ext. 238 or Chris Ferrari, ext. 264.
