mile with a video tape at the Social Development Center. Another part of this new program is not only learning about the foods that are healthy, but also getting new recipes for healthy dishes. Every week Janet and Kate surf the internet to find new low fat and low calorie recipes for the members of the group to take home with them. According to Janet Newberry, the Healthy Choices group has lost a total of "44 pounds and counting!". Exercising and making healthy choices truly has been made fun due to the efforts of the program.
Thinking about learning how to make healthy choices and/or joining the yoga fun? Contact Janet Newberry at 499-4241 Ext. 253 for more information.

will be changing, because we are going to be having our own local regional meetings with other self-advocates, kind of like the ones that I go to in Northampton. Now we will be able to work together without traveling far away, and members of the group will get to know each other better. For these meetings I would like to ask a representative to come to speak to our groups about outreach and how we can get more people with disabilities involved in self-advocacy. I like being in self-advocacy because I like being able to speak my mind and be supported. If you are interested in joining either the Berkshire Advocates in Pittsfield or the Southern Berkshire Advocates in Lee I would suggest it.
For more information call 499-4241 Ext. 265.
