Respite Provides Important

Community Service

Mike Blaisdell and Ryan Boesse have become good friends during the time they've
shared at Berkshire County Arc's respite program.

Respite.  The word suggest thoughts of rest, relief, and calm, quiet repose.   It brings to mind a place apart from demanding and ongoing responsibilities, a place that rejuvenates us and lets us confront our lives' challenges renewed  and refreshed.
Berkshire County Arc's Respite Program at 123 Wealthy Avenue in Pittsfield fills the familiar and necessary role of relieving parents, guardians and other family members of the intense,
twenty-four-hour responsibility of caring for a disabled family member.  Respite provides care givers with time to rest and to attend to their relationships with each other.
