Individual
Spotlight
Nominated by the staff at her program
at the Hab Center, Janet Howard is Visions Spotlight Individual
for Fall 1999.
Janet, according to the HabCenter
staff, has made great progress in her communica- tion skills, speaks up
for herself more and more frequently and has become a solid citizen in
her daily program.
At the Hab Center, Janet
enjoys working with Lydia. She has displayed a real aptitude bor
bead work and was working on a necklace when Visions visited recently.
She also enjoys trips to the Mall to shop for clothes.
When we spoke to her, Janet
was still excited about her day at the Big E in Springfield where she had
a great time seeing the sights and enjoying hot dogs, fried dough and deep-fried
veggies.
Also at the Big E, Janet
showed her concern for others by not riding an elephant with her friends
because she was afraid her leg brace might hurt the animal and spoil everyone's
good time.
At home at 41 Daniels Avenue,
Janet especially enjoys watching movies, hanging out with her best friends,
Barbara Dudley and Tina Bruzzi, and helping take care of Chubby, the house
cat. She and her friends also took a vacation to Cape Cod and went
on a whale watching cruise. According to Debbie O'Connor,
director at 41 Daniels Avenue, Janet is epecially caring toward her housemates.
Congratulation, Janet! |
