Karen Coffey, a long time resident of 50 Oxford Place in West Springfield passed away recently. Karen was a woman who attracted people to
her. According to Dennis Radford, Residential Director and a long-time friend of Karen's, "Karen brought out the best in people, evoking their compassion and empathy with cheerfulness and winning smile." In remembering Karen, Dennis also recalled some of her favorite things. "She loved loud music, bumpy rides, bright lights, being in the middle of a happy commotion, and of course, plenty of hugs." Everyone who knew Karen will miss her and remember her well. Brenda Durkee, a friend of Karen's, submitted the poem printed here in loving memory. "This poem truly capture's Karen's personality", according to Ken Singer. Her innocence and endearing smile could only enhance the lives of the people who knew her.
