| Dedication, commitment,
talent and a sense of humor - these are traits I would use to describe
Joseph Woitkoski. I have seen Joe come
and go from board meetings for the past twelve years, but have never had
the pleasure of really talking to him, until this interview.
Joe has worked in the field of estate and financial planning
and investment advising for the past twenty-nine years. He is currently
employed at the brokerage firm of PaineWebber. Joe is a lifelong friend
of our board president, Cliff Nilan, who realized the vital contribution
Joe could make to the organization and consequently brought him to a meeting.
Joe came to the board with very little knowledge in the field of human
services, but with an expertise in money management. Joe was the obvious

their directness and openness with the Board. There is
a true partnership between the administration and the Board that makes
every thing work smoothly.
His long-term commitment to the community is apparent
in his volunteer work. He has been involved in Big Brothers for many years
and organizes its annual golf tournament. For the past twenty
|
years, Joe has coached Youth Basketball at the Boys Club.
Joe has also officiated at high school and college football games for twenty-six
years. When he has some free time, Joe enjoys a round of golf with friends.
During my time with Joe I discovered that he is a Pittsfield
native and a graduate of St. Joseph High School. He and his wife, Nancy,
live off of Elm Street and are the proud parents of three - Rebecca and
Michael are college graduates and are now tax paying citizens and Andrew,
is a freshman at St. Michael’s College.
After meeting with and talking to Joe Woitkoski, I am
pleased and proud that he gives his time to serve on the Board of Directors
of Berkshire County Arc.
