BCARC Wins 2001 Berkshire County MASS Excellence Award

The excellence of Berkshire County ARC's programs supporting individuals with disabilities was recognized once again as the agency garnered The Berkshire Performance Excellence Award.
   Dean Roberts
, Vice-President of Operations for General Systems, presented the award to BCARC on Wednesday, June 13th, at the Chamber of Commerce Good News Business Salute at the Crowne Plaza attended by more than 300 local business leaders. 
 
  In accepting the award on behalf of Berkshire County Arc, Ken Singer, Executive Director, said, "The organi

zation works very hard assisting the individuals that we serve to become meaningful members of the community. Over 100 people are employed at Berkshire County businesses and, in addition, there are 35 volunteer sites where individuals give of their time each week."
   In deciding the winners, the awards
evaluation committee used seven criteria of performance excellence: leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, human resources, process management and results. Berkshire County Arc excelled in all seven
