Tracy Demary shines at the Beach Olympics in Maine

On a beautiful summer evening in August, the friends and family of Tracy Demary accompanied her to the opening parade of the Beach Special Olympics in Maine. Tracy had the privilege and honor of representing Berkshire County Arc by carrying the Special Olympics Banner down the main street to start the opening events.
The festivities included performers, sandcastle building, road races and many more events for young and old.
Many BCARC individuals, staff and their friends

and families have been attending the Beach Special Olympics in Maine for many years, but this was the first year that one of our very own had the honor of representing Berkshire County in such a conspicuous way.
There were thousands of people there to watch Tracy as she marched with her head held high. Her special gift to all of us that night was the twinkle in her eyes and her radiant smile.
Accompanying Tracy was her "family" from 22 Copley Terrace, her mother, Nancy, her sister Kelly

Melski, and her friends Michele Simon-Grady, Melissa Grandshaw and Haley Goddeau. Also attending were her nephew Scott, her niece, Mackenzie, Melissa's son, David, Tammy Grandshaw and her children Lisa and Alicia. Chris Buffi and her children, Mathew, Courtney and Christian were also there to help cheer Tracy on.
Everyone is so proud of Tracy and feel it was a real honor to have her represent Berkshire County Arc this way.
