I hope you’re looking down right now just so you can see.

I’ll take this time to tell you just what you’ve meant to me.

I remember when we met you said you were my girl

I remember when I’d make you mad, and even cause your hair to curl

I remember all the things we’ve done and the fun that we have had

I remember when you’d warn me “you better not be bad”.

I remember when I’d tell you to quit it with the smokes

You’d turn on your selective hearing and ignore  me ‘til I’d joke

I remember the Valentine’s dance, you were as beautiful as I’ve seen

Now you need to remember that you’ll always be my Queen

But most of all, I remember the promise I made

That I would stay strong for you, until that fateful day

I kept my promise to you, just like I said I would

I kept my promise to you for as long as I possibly could

We had a lot of time together and had fun with all that we have done

I won’t forget them ever, just because you’re gone

I’ll think about you often, I may laugh or I may cry

But I promise I won’t forget you when I look up to the sky

It’s time for you to rest now, so be happy and fly free

And please don’t you ever forget

You’ll always be an angel to me.

In Loving Memory of Heide Jill Curtis

Heide Curtis was an extraordinary woman that will be missed  by Berkshire County Arc, her family and friends, and her community. Here you will find a poem written by her very special friend, Tom Coutherut, who was one of the people who really knew Heide best.
