After a long and hard winter the warmer weather is finally here, and it is time to take advantage of the summer months. For me, my summer began with Camp Jened in Rockhill, NY.
For 10 days every summer I head to camp to enjoy many outdoor activities that I wouldn't otherwise have a chance to experience.  One of my favorites is swimming in the pool, but there are also many other activities that are both enjoyable and challenging.  Some of these are camping, boating, arts and crafts, and another one of my favorites, basketball!  Although the nets are lowered so that individuals are able to shoot into the baskets more easily, I still had a challenge learning the game and getting to play well.
Every night, the camp has entertainment of some sort for, usually with music and dancing for everyone.  There is also some really good food. I especially like the grilled steak, salad and potatoes.
I have an opportunity to meet a lot of friendly people from

Scott and his friend Donna,
the nurse at Camp Becket.

Scott has been working at the YMCA Camp Becket for the past 10 years.  He is a hard working employee who is very well liked by all the employees and campers.  Scott's responsibilities at the camp include cleaning the campers' lodges, recycling the cardboard for the camp, sweeping and mopping the kitchen and dining hall floors, washing pots and pans, and cleaning the day care center.
With each passing year at Camp Becket, Scott has become more and more independent in his job and is very proud of the work he does.  Scott is a very friendly gentleman with a great sense of humor who is always there to greet you with a smile and is willing to help in anyway that he can.

Here I am at camp playing basketball, my absolute favorite activity!
