Kim Demary-Moore
Program Director, South Main St.,
Lanesboro, Apt.

Kim Demary-Moore has created a stable home environment for David J. for 7 ½ years. As one watches the interaction between them, it’s apparent that there is a strong bond and a level of trust. Though David is non-verbal, Kim and her long-time staff are able to read his signing, body language and expressions to fully understand and respond to his wants and needs. Kim consistently uses praise, creativity and a sense of humor to keep David content and assure that he feels safe and happy in his home.
Kim’s administrative skills are also exemplary. She ensures that all staff persons who work in the program receive the training they require to support David successfully.
In addition to her regular duties, Kim can also be found volunteering for special events by decorating or baking goodies. She is friendly and professional at all times, and other staff know that they can depend on her for support.
Kim’s natural, caring rapport with David and her consistent support and leadership over the years make Kim the true embodiment of the BCARC Mission.

Laura Baran
Program Director,
Social Development Center

Laura Baran is an extremely dedicated employee of BCARC who goes above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. Recently Laura spearheaded the move of the Social Development Center to the new building in Dalton, working well into the evening and through several weekends to ensure that there was no disruption in programming for the individuals she supports.
While it’s not in her job description, Laura regularly makes sure that the Training Room is in the proper shape for training programs.
Laura’s organizational skills are also a strong asset in her work on the Allocations Committee and in helping to coordinate the BCARC Golf Classic, where she also works as a team leader.
And, finally, SDC is often called upon to provide supports and services for people with special challenges – sometimes with little or no notice. Under Laura’s guidance, individualized programs have been developed to specifically meet the needs of people referred from school districts, the community and other programs. Laura consistently makes available a comprehensive set of supports and services that facilitate success for each and every participant of her program.
