the photos these ladies really know their way around a kitchen! They do all the baking themselves and they take a lot of pride in their work. Kim said, "I think those guys like it when we bring them the stuff we make". Judy said, "I like to bake and visit the firemen".

     Peter Oakley, volunteer fire chief, really enjoys visiting with the individuals when they come to clean. He believes this project is important for both the fire station and the volunteers. "The project gets them out into the community and gives them something really useful to do. It helps them feel like they are a part of a bigger community by volunteering". In addition to the distinctive plaque, the fire department also gave the individuals gift certificates to Friendly's which they all used to all go out to lunch together. We thank the Lanesbourough fire department for their continued support for the individual's volunteer efforts.
